- The Departmental Assembly of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications
- A Coordinator representing the institution within the Inter-Institutional Coordinating Committee for Industrial PhDs, responsible for academic and industry collaboration and research topics selection.
4. Doctoral Titles
The program leads to the Industrial Doctorate in Informatics and Telecommunications, with students required to submit a thesis that integrates industry-related research.
5. Admission of Students
Students can apply if they have a Master’s degree or a five-year undergraduate degree from a recognized institution. The Inter-Institutional Coordinating Committee proposes research areas, and the Departmental Assembly announces PhD candidate positions. Applications for the Industrial PhD program are open throughout each semester. Deadlines are at the end of February for the winter semester and at the end of June for the spring semester.
6. Selection Process
Candidates are selected based on their research proposal and academic qualifications. A Three-Member Advisory Committee is assigned to supervise their research. This committee may include members from collaborating institutions or research centers.
7. Duration
The minimum duration for completing the PhD is three years, with a maximum limit of six years.
8. Supervision
PhD candidates are supervised by an advisor and monitored by the Three-Member Advisory Committee. The advisor can be replaced under specific conditions.
9. Student Rights and Obligations
Students receive free access to educational resources and support from both academic and industrial partners. They also have the right to student benefits and healthcare.
10. Industrial PhD Conditions
PhD candidates conduct research in collaboration with an industry partner or company. The industrial partner provides guidance and may fund the research. Candidates can perform part of their research within the company’s facilities.
11. Educational and Research Plan
The Three-Member Advisory Committee designs the education and research plan, including courses and specific research activities. Candidates must complete four semester-long courses during the first year.
12. Thesis Submission and Evaluation
The PhD thesis must demonstrate original research and be publishable in international journals or conferences. It is evaluated by a Seven-Member Examination Committee after a public defense.
13. Graduation and Conferment of the Doctoral Degree
Upon successful completion, the PhD degree is awarded by the Department, following the public defense and approval from the Examination Committee.
